Treatment:
Act I
Begins with a big title screen, then shows
the setting in Oliver Moore’s living room, with his cat sleeping peacefully in
its cat bed. Oliver speaks loudly as he walks purposefully past the screen, his
booming voice abruptly waking the cat. Silver Jewel slowly trails behind
Oliver, clumsily walking into the coffee table and falling over. Oliver is
standing in the doorway holding the door and listing the chores which he needs
to accomplish before heading to work. He sees Silver banging into the coffee
table and sighs over-dramatically. Oliver leans forward, face-to-face with
Silver and commands him to stay put and not to mess with anything. Silver nods
nervously as he marches to the couch and slumps down into the cushions. Oliver
lets out a low growl and leaves, slamming the door behind him. With the
slamming of the door, we see the room shake and an item moving, teetering
closer towards the edge of the shelf.
Act II
Silver looks around, bored, but notices
the item about to fall from the shelf. He looks shocked and horrified. He rises
quickly and dives to catch it as it falls. As Silver lands on the ground he
accidently knocks Oliver’s coat-rack, which topples over onto a cabinet. Silver
rushes past the screen to stop the cabinet from falling, causing papers to fly
up around the room and hit more items that then begin to move and fall,
creating a chain of events. Silver then desperately scurries around trying to
stop the chaos as it erupts. He is disheveled and dismayed when he notices
Oliver’s prized item being pushed towards the edge by Oliver’s mischievous cat.
Silver hurls himself across the room, reaching in seemingly slow-motion in a
desperate attempt to save the item from its doom. Silver hits the cabinet,
which shakes upon impact. The next scene reveals Silver leaning against the
cabinet clutching the object, having successfully caught it. He then slowly
rubs his head, due to his collision with the cabinet, and Oliver’s cat then
drops from above, landing directly in his lap. Silver, wide-eyed, cracks a
smile. He stands and puts the object back on the cabinet. Silver then looks
around the room, in a complete mess with Oliver’s cat standing beside him.
Act III
From the other side of the door, we hear Oliver’s
voice. Silver looks in its direction, panicked. Oliver bursts in and freezes.
The room is tidy, but all the items are now in different spots from their
original positions. Silver is sitting on the couch, looking ruffled and untidy
due to rushing around, with a large fake smile plastered on his face. Oliver,
stunned, shakes his head and complains about Silver’s appearance as Silver
stands to look at him. Oliver exclaims that he does not wish to take Silver
outside when he looks like that as, but then rushes Silver out the door while
saying he is late for work.
